TOUCH New Jersey coordinates and administers an all-volunteer food pantry, which is based in the Fairview Community Baptist Church. The pantry is open each Wednesday for 7 hours, allowing low-income residents to “shop” for meats, dairy, bread and other food staples. TOUCH’s operations are completely staffed by volunteers, currently “rescuing” and distributing an average of 7500 pounds of food per week.
As a certified agency with Philabundance, TOUCH New Jersey picks up foodstuffs from Acme supermarkets throughout South Jersey in Willingboro, Moorestown, Maple Shade, Audubon, Voorhees and Runnemede as well as the Superfresh in South Philadelphia, the Walmart in Williamstown and the Mt. Calvary hub in Camden. Independently, TOUCH New Jersey also picks up food daily at two Wawa stores and the Panerna Bread in Cherry Hill.
TOUCH’s pantry distributes food to an average of 175 families per week, benefiting an average of 625 people, including an average of 275 non-seniors adults, 255 children and 85 seniors.
TOUCH recently received a donation of bag lunches from students at Moorestown Friends School! The Upper School Service Committee (9-12)made the sandwiches and the Lower(3-4) and Middle(5-8) service clubs decorated the bags! Thanks everyone…..
